About Patti
Patti Quintero is a mother, birth educator, doula, and longtime teacher of yoga and Vedic Meditation. For almost three decades, she has devoted her work to supporting women through the transformative passages of life.
Born in California and raised between Colombia and Miami, Patti’s path has always been rooted in education and the healing arts. After earning her Masters degree in Education from the University of Miami, she returned to Los Angeles, where she began teaching Kindergarten while deepening her studies in yoga and Vedic philosophy.
In 2001, Patti began studying and mentoring with Maty Ezraty, founder of YogaWorks, and went on to teach yoga and lead teacher trainings for more than two decades. Her work later expanded into Vedic meditation and advanced Vedic knowledge, training extensively with Thom Knoles and being inducted into the Shankaracharya tradition by Swami Kailashanand Brahmachari of Jyotir Math, India.
Motherhood has brought these years of study into practice adding a new dimension and relevance to the heart of Patti’s work: a belief in our resonance with nature, and our innate capacity to adapt, expand and embrace our personal evolution.
UMA Mother
In the Vedic tradition UMA represents Mother of the Universe, the innate feminine essence that exists within each of us and embodies unity, creative intelligence and a deep resonance with the cosmic wisdom that enlivens consciousness.
UMA Mother was born from Patti’s personal journey through pregnancy, birth, and motherhood. During this profound transformation yoga, meditation, Vedic knowledge and a supportive community of mothers became an invaluable foundation for cultivating presence, vitality, adaptability, joy, and a connection to her inner knowing.
This experience inspired a natural evolution in Patti’s work. She has developed prenatal and postnatal yoga trainings in both English and Spanish, led philanthropic initiatives supporting underserved mothers, cultivated a devoted community, and guided thousands of families through the perinatal journey and into parenthood.
UMA is the culmination and continued evolution of this work, a space where knowledge, practice, and community come together to support mothers through these expansive rites of passage. At it’s core, UMA believes that mothers are the heartbeat of evolution. Through meaningful support and practices that release stress and reconnect us to this essence, we deepen our capacity to access our own wisdom, intuition, and inner knowing.
Mother is the ultimate lighthouse, when she shines brightly, she illuminates the whole world.
The well being of the whole society depends on the consciousness of Mother ~Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
Words from our community
First thing everyone should know: It’s been studied that women who receive proper prenatal care are more likely to have a healthy and safe birth. That said... I thought I knew what a doula was until Patti became my doula. Either I had no clue, or she just completely raised the bar on what it means to be a doula. I received knowledge from her, yoga classes, a support group of other expecting mamas, and her sweet, nurturing heart that just hugged my entire being and made me feel safe to cry. It became essential to have her by my side during labor. Her daughter was also an amazing presence to have around! She was amazing with Henry (pretty sure he had a crush on her), and she was such an angelic witness in the background as I pushed Asa out into our world. So thank you, you beautiful goddess! Jai Ma!

If I learned anything from my time with Patti it is that all the power, peace, and wisdom I could ever need is already inside me, and that this is true in pregnancy, motherhood, and life. However, I really do not know how I would have made it through pregnancy and birth without Patti. She held my hand through the physical and emotional transformations of pregnancy in her In Bloom sessions. She literally held me up as my doula during a very long intense home birth in April 2020. She held my heart through the labyrinth of the early postpartum days. Patti is graceful, compassionate, strong, and wise. I am beyond grateful to have worked with her during my pregnancy. I still remember her gentle wisdom and energy when in difficult moments. Thank you Patti, I love you forever!!!

Patti came into my life during one of the most profound and transformative chapters of life, and very quickly became so much more than a doula or meditation teacher. She became a mentor, a spiritual guide, an advocate, and a deeply grounding presence as I moved through my second pregnancy, home birth, postpartum, and a season of enormous personal growth.
She supported me through every layer of that journey with an extraordinary combination of wisdom, intuition, tenderness, and strength. She helped me find the right midwife and care team, guided me through the many decisions surrounding my home birth, and was beside me throughout my labor and postpartum. She has a rare ability to bring both calm and clarity to moments that ask a great deal of us…to create space for strength, instinct, grace, and trust to emerge.
Patti also initiated me into Vedic Meditation, a practice that has become one of the most meaningful and enduring gifts in my life. Through our meditation work, retreat, and continued mentorship, she gave me tools that extended far beyond pregnancy and birth. Her teachings helped me meet a deeply testing and transformative period with greater fortitude, presence, discernment, and connection to myself.
What makes Patti so extraordinary is the way she meets women exactly where they are while also recognizing who they are becoming. She never takes your power from you; she helps you return to it. Her wisdom, care, and mentorship have shaped the way I move through motherhood, change, relationships, and my own inner world, and her presence has become part of the foundation beneath me. She is one of the great teachers of my journey, and someone whose guidance I know I will carry with me for years to come.

Working with Patti was the most important decision we made in our pregnancy! Over the last decade, my partner and I had countless friends rave about Patti’s work as a doula and birth coach, so we knew instantly we wanted to work with her once we became pregnant. I took her prenatal yoga series In Bloom and my husband and I took her Journey to Birth course. Both are a must! She was a beacon of positivity, and our birth process and fourth trimester was beautiful and dare I say EASY! We feel confident and at ease in this next phase of life because of her support and guidance. I will be returning to work with her when I get pregnant again. Grateful for you, Patti! Love you!
