Welcome to UMA. These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of the UMA website, digital platforms, courses, classes, programs, workshops, events, educational materials, and other offerings provided by UMA (“UMA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing this website, creating an account, purchasing an offering, or participating in UMA content or programming, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
Educational & Wellness Purpose
UMA provides education, practices, resources, and community designed to support women and families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, motherhood, and other stages of life. Our content and offerings may include education related to pregnancy, birth and postpartum; yoga and movement; meditation and breathwork; nutrition and wellness; nervous system awareness; and other practices intended to support overall well-being. UMA’s content is provided for educational and informational purposes only and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical or psychological condition. Nothing provided through UMA should be considered a substitute for individualized medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or care from a qualified healthcare professional.
Pregnancy, Birth & Postpartum
Pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and each individual’s health circumstances are unique. Information shared through UMA represents educational guidance and general wellness information and should not be interpreted as individualized medical advice. Always consult your physician, midwife, or other qualified healthcare provider regarding questions about your pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, your baby’s health, medications or supplements, nutrition, exercise, or any other medical concerns. Participation in UMA does not establish a physician-patient, therapist-client, or other healthcare-provider relationship. Private doula, birth education, mentorship, or other individualized services may be governed by a separate written agreement. Where a separate agreement exists, the terms of that agreement will govern those services.
Movement, Yoga, Meditation & Breathwork
UMA offers yoga, movement, meditation, breathwork, restorative practices, and related wellness experiences.
By choosing to participate, you acknowledge that physical and wellness practices involve inherent risks and that you are responsible for determining whether a practice is appropriate for you. Please listen to your body, modify practices as needed, and discontinue any practice that causes pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, unusual discomfort, or other concerning symptoms. If you are pregnant, postpartum, recovering from an injury or medical procedure, or have a health condition that may affect your ability to participate safely, consult an appropriate healthcare professional before beginning or continuing a practice.
Purchases & Payment
Prices for UMA offerings are displayed at the time of purchase and may change from time to time. By making a purchase, you agree to provide accurate payment and billing information and authorize the applicable payment processor to charge the amount shown at checkout. Certain programs, services, retreats, subscriptions, or private offerings may have additional payment and cancellation terms presented at registration or contained within a separate agreement.
Refunds & Cancellations
Refund and cancellation terms vary depending on the type of offering purchased. Please review UMA’s Refund & Cancellation Policy before completing your purchase. Additional cancellation terms may apply to retreats, private services, doula services, mentorships, special events, or other offerings and will be communicated at the time of enrollment or within your individual agreement. Unless otherwise stated in writing, digital materials that have been accessed, downloaded, streamed, or otherwise made available are non-refundable.
Digital Content & Accounts
Certain UMA offerings may require an account, membership, or subscription. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and for activity occurring through your account. Access to digital classes, recordings, courses, and membership content is intended solely for the individual who purchased or was granted access. Login credentials may not be shared with others. UMA reserves the right to suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe an account or UMA materials are being used in violation of these Terms.
Intellectual Property
All content made available through UMA—including videos, classes, courses, recordings, meditations, written materials, educational resources, handouts, photographs, graphics, logos, designs, methodologies, and other original materials—is owned by or licensed to UMA and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Your purchase or participation grants you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the materials for your own personal and educational purposes. Unless you have received prior written permission from UMA, you may not reproduce, distribute, sell, publish, teach from, publicly display, upload, share, modify, record, or create derivative works from UMA content or materials. Participation in an UMA training or educational program does not transfer ownership of UMA’s proprietary curriculum or materials.
Recordings & Live Programs
Certain live online programs, classes, workshops, or events may be recorded for educational or participant-access purposes. When recordings are planned, participants will be informed when reasonably appropriate. Participants are responsible for choosing whether to appear on camera or otherwise participate in recorded portions of a program unless participation requirements are communicated in advance. UMA course and program recordings are for authorized participants only and may not be copied, distributed, recorded, or shared without written permission.
Third-Party Resources
UMA may occasionally provide links, recommendations, referrals, products, practitioners, or other third-party resources for convenience and educational purposes. Unless expressly stated otherwise, UMA does not control these third parties and is not responsible for their services, advice, products, availability, policies, or actions. You are responsible for determining whether any third-party provider or resource is appropriate for your individual needs.
No Guarantee of Results
UMA is committed to providing thoughtful, high-quality education and practices; however, individual experiences and outcomes vary. We do not guarantee any particular physical, emotional, medical, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, professional, or personal outcome from participating in UMA offerings.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, UMA and its owners, instructors, employees, contractors, collaborators, and representatives will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from your use of the website, participation in UMA offerings, or reliance upon UMA content. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Community Conduct
UMA is committed to creating a respectful and supportive environment. Participants are expected to engage with instructors, guests, and fellow community members with respect. UMA reserves the right to remove a participant from a program, community space, event, or digital platform for behavior that is abusive, threatening, discriminatory, disruptive, or otherwise harmful to the community.
Changes to Offerings
UMA may occasionally modify, reschedule, replace, or discontinue classes, instructors, programs, features, or other offerings when reasonably necessary. Where a material change affects a paid offering, UMA will communicate applicable options in accordance with the terms presented at the time of purchase.
Privacy
Your use of the UMA website and services is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions periodically to reflect changes to our offerings, business practices, or applicable laws. The most current version will be posted on this website with the date of the latest update.
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
